Marc Sadler
Austrian-born French citizen, Marc Sadler currently lives in Milan.
Experimentation with plastics has often formed a key part of their activity. He already showed a strong curiosity about the topic chosen for his thesis at ENSAD in Paris.
A citizen of the world (having lived and worked for many years in Europe, North America, and Asia), he is a consultant to companies in the fields of home furnishings, large and small appliances, lighting, high-tech products, and sports.
In the early 1970s, perfecting the first ski boots in the fully recyclable thermoplastic material, later marketed by the Italian firm Caber (later known as Lotto). It quickly gains responsibility for the complete collections and begins a long and fruitful collaboration that led to the granting of patents on the slopes boot with a symmetrical shell, which was for many years the best-selling ski-boot in the world.
This is the origin of his specialization as a sports designer, which led to a close collaboration with the most important multinational sports companies in the United States, Asia and Europe, both in sports shoes and in other sports fields: skis, tennis rackets, golf clubs, etc. Work in this sector, which has often pioneered research into new materials and techniques, provided the experience that allows it to bring innovation to the more traditional areas where it is established a design concept as pure aesthetic form.
Awarded the Compasso d'Oro ADI (Industrial Design Association) for Drop Lamps ( Flos , 1994), Tite and Mite ( Foscarini , 2001) and Large Shelf (Caimi Brevetti, 2008), his work has received numerous international awards. design over the years.
Motorcycle back protection designed for Dainese is now in the permanent design collection at MOMA in New York and the lamp mite ( Foscarini ) is part of the Beaubourg design collection in Paris.
