Vico Magistretti

Vico Magistretti was born in Milan in 1920. He has worked as an architect and designer on hundreds of projects in Italy, Europe, the US and Japan since 1946. Among the many awards he has received: 3 Compasso d'oro (Milan, Italy) ; SIAD gold medal (London), gold medal and grand prize (Milan Triennale). He has been a professor at the Domus Academy in Milan, he is a member of the Academy of San Luca in Rome, an honorary professor and a senior fellow at the Royal College of Art in London and was appointed Royal Designer for the Sector of the Royal Society of Arts. His design works are exhibited in museums around the world (12 objects at MoMA, New York). Most of their lamps and furniture have been best sellers and long sellers. His work is considered an important contribution to the global success of Italian design.
