The children of Mariano Guzzini Raymond, John, Virgil, and José Giannunzio founded Harvey Designs on June 30. The company was set up to produce art objects in enamelled copper. The choice of the name was in reference to Harvey, the invisible giant rabbit, the imaginary friend of James Stewart in the film of the same name released in 1950

Initially, the young brothers worked Guzzini in his new adventure only at night after completing their shifts at Fratelli Guzzini.

Harvey is the core of the future iGuzzini lighting. In fact, shortly after the founding of the company, the production of copper objects is complemented with the manufacturing of plastic lighting fittings.
