Patricia Urquiola

Urquiola, an Asturian of Basque descent, as her father is an industrial engineer from Vitoria who moved to Oviedo to work at Duro Felguera, studied architecture in Madrid, finishing at the Politecnico di Milano where she graduated in 1989. Her graduation thesis was supervised by the great Italian architect Achille Castiglioni. Between 1990 and 1996 he worked at De Padova under the supervision of Vico Magistretti. In 2001 he created his own design studio in Milan, the city where he currently resides in 2007. From this studio he makes designs under his name for different companies such as Alessi, B&B, Moroso, Molteni, Kartell, Kettal or GANDIABLASCO (GAN). Within the field of architecture, it is worth highlighting some residential towers in Shanghai.
